Also back by popular demand to close our 40th Anniversary season (!), this wonderful company of dancers and musicians does it all – high-energy dancing; a variety of instrumental and vocal music; musical stories; and comical skits.  You are never sure what is coming next, but you can be sure that it will always be highly creative and refreshingly fun-filled.  This particular show features the greatest hits of over 23 years of professional performances.  Rhythm In Shoes has toured overseas and around the country, including the Chautauqua Institute in New York, Wolf Trap in Virginia, and with several prominent orchestras.  This is a great family show that engages all ages in an extraordinary rhythmical tour of America’s cultural heritage.

Rhythm in Shoes is a company of dancers & musicians based in Dayton, Ohio.  Rooted in traditional forms of American music and dance—swing tunes & tap, hoedowns & clogging—the varied repertoire of Rhythm in Shoes, directed by choreographer Sharon Leahy and composer Rick Good, is at once original and recognizable.  Since 1987, this critically acclaimed body of work has infused the spirit of traditional dance and music with a thoroughly modern sensibility.  Rhythm in Shoes has toured in 47 states as well as Canada, Japan and Ireland, pursuing the company’s mission: to engage the world in music and dance.

From the concert hall, to the cabaret, to the classroom, the creation of exciting and thought-provoking work is achieved by maintaining a strong company of musicians and dancers, and by collaborating with other, like-minded artists who are steeped in tradition and pushing their boundaries.
